Unleashing Possibilities: Humane Society of West Alabama’s Transformative Project

The Humane Society of West Alabama is transforming animal rescue and care in Tuscaloosa County with the “Unleash the Possibilities” four-year (2023-2026) plan. The plan includes creating a state-of-the-art Animal Adoption Center on a 12-acre property in Cottondale, increasing overall shelter capacity and improving operations. Key milestones in 2024 included renovating a Canine Special Care Unit, relocating all dogs to the new campus, and acquiring two vehicles to enhance transportation and campus tours.

This project reflects the Holle Family Foundation’s mission to support initiatives that strengthen community well-being and drive lasting positive change. The Foundation is proud to have contributed by funding the vehicles, which have already enhanced efficiency. With the development of the Home for Feline Care underway, this initiative showcases the powerful impact of community collaboration in creating a brighter future for both animals and their adopters.
