Job Skills Create New Home

Habitat for Humanity-Tuscaloosa has developed a new program called “Operation Transformation”. The program pairs construction trade students and local electrical apprentices from the Tuscaloosa Construction Training Academy with licensed construction trade instructors to build affordable housing. The hands-on training assists with the development of problem-solving skills, provides real-world applications of lessons and provides students with resume building experience. Students have the opportunity to apply carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC skills. The program will be expanded in 2022 to include students from Skilled Trades of West Alabama.
