The Holle Family Foundation Board gathered on Tuesday to celebrate Brigadier General Everett Holle, with lunch and cake marking the eve of his birthday—December 11th being his actual birthday. Nearly everyone on the board had the privilege of knowing him personally, making it a meaningful tribute.
Mr. Holle was a remarkable individual whose leadership, vision, and generosity left a lasting impact on our community. After earning a degree in English and Journalism from Washington and Lee University and serving in the Army Counterintelligence Corps, he went on to build a distinguished 40-year career at WAPI-TV/Channel 13 in Birmingham. His contributions went far beyond his professional achievements—Mr. Holle was a passionate advocate for civic and cultural engagement, dedicating his time to organizations like the Rotary Club of Birmingham, the Greater Alabama Council of Boy Scouts of America, and the United Way of Central Alabama.
Mr. Holle’s unwavering commitment to education, community building, and his values of fostering growth, opportunity, and unity continue to inspire the work of the Holle Family Foundation today. The celebration was a tribute to his memory and a reminder of the principles that still guide our work, honoring the legacy he left behind with those who knew him best.
