Firehouse Music Scholarships

The Firehouse is a creative learning space in the Forest Park – South Avondale neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama dedicated to the enrichment of the city’s musical community. Firehouse offers a variety of music education programs with scholarship opportunities for the musically-underserved students in the community, as well as sustainable employment for Birmingham’s working musicians.

“As of July 31th, 23 young people learned with scholarships, and eleven learned at no cost. In that time, the Firehouse has provided 357 individual lessons to students with scholarships. In April, the Firehouse hosted one of its biannual Block Parties, a showcase of student talent where students from all backgrounds come together in bands to play their favorite songs. At that event, 13 students with scholarships performed.”-Eric Wallace
