Community Food Bank of Central Alabama Grand Opening

On September 24, 2026, the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama celebrated the grand opening of its new home at the Joseph S. Bruno Campus in Bessemer. The Holle Family Foundation was proud to be part of this milestone. The expanded facility has more cooler and freezer space, a dedicated volunteer center, and a more efficient layout for receiving and distributing food. The Food Bank supplies more than 300 partner agencies, including food pantries, shelters, and children’s programs, across 12 counties in central Alabama. Together they reach over 145,000 people at risk of hunger each month. Last year the Food Bank provided about 20 million meals, and it estimates that 48 million are still needed. This new space gives the Food Bank room to close that gap, and we are grateful for its work and for the volunteers and partners who make it possible.
