At the Holle Family Foundation, we’re fortunate to work alongside many organizations that are doing incredible work in their communities. Vineyard Family Services (VFS) is one of the many making a meaningful difference across Alabama through both immediate relief and long-term support for children and families.
Recently, over a three-month period, VFS made a powerful impact through its BackPack Buddies program, distributing weekend meal bags to 1,500 students who might otherwise go hungry when school cafeterias are closed. The program serves Shelby County School System, helping to fill a critical gap and give children a better chance to focus, learn, and grow.
This large impact in such a short amount of time would not have been possible without the heart and hands of the volunteers who show up week after week. Check out the slideshow below for “Packing Party” photos!
In addition to delivering meals, VFS is also committed to measuring its long-term effectiveness. Their outcomes framework is designed to track everything from academic progress and emotional well-being to counselor-student interactions and the effectiveness of resource referrals. These measures reflect VFS’s commitment not only to immediate assistance, but to sustainable growth and positive change in the lives of the families they serve.
We’re proud to support organizations like Vineyard Family Services and to witness the difference they’re making every day. To learn more about their mission and ongoing programs, visit www.vfsdads.com.
